ClassPass Pricing Explained (October 2026): Plans, Credits, and Real Costs
ClassPass costs $19 to $249 a month in the US. Every plan, what a credit is worth, the trial, rollover, fees, pausing, and when booking direct is cheaper.
ClassPass costs $19 to $249 a month in the US as of October 2026, depending on how many credits you buy. The plan most new members land on after the free trial is 28 credits for $59 a month, which ClassPass estimates is enough for 5 to 10 classes. Prices and plan sizes change by city, so the exact menu you see depends on where you live.
This guide covers every current plan, what a credit is worth, how many classes your credits actually buy, the trial, rollover, fees, pausing, canceling, and when booking a studio directly costs less. We checked the numbers on classpass.com/plans and the ClassPass Help Center on October 1, 2026.
One note before the numbers: Corvi, the app that publishes this blog, does not book classes or sell credits. It is a free app for checking in to the classes you already book and keeping a streak with friends. We have no stake in which plan you pick.

Sales tax is added on top of the listed price based on your billing address (ClassPass Help Center). ClassPass does not offer student, military, or first-responder discounts, though some employers offer it as a subsidized benefit.
Does ClassPass cost more in some cities?
Yes. ClassPass says membership options "differ by location" and are set using local studio options and class pricing (source). In practice the dollar price for the smallest and largest plans tends to stay the same, while the middle tiers and the number of credits change.
| Plan size | Portland, ME area | New York (reported) | Toronto |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry plan | 8 credits, $19 | 8 credits, $19 | 8 credits, CA$20 |
| Small | 15 credits, $35 | 15 credits, $35 | 24 credits, CA$59 |
| Mid | 28 credits, $59 | 28 credits, $59 | 38 credits, CA$89 |
| Large | 68 credits, $139 | 68 credits, $139 | 64 credits, CA$139 |

Sources: Portland figures from classpass.com/plans on October 1, 2026. New York figures as reported by Gym Membership Tips (June 2026). Toronto figures from an archived copy of classpass.com/plans dated September 10, 2026. The bigger city difference is usually in credit prices per class, not plan prices: a 6 p.m. reformer class in Manhattan can take far more credits than a midday yoga class in a smaller market.
How ClassPass credits work
Credits are ClassPass's currency. Every class, gym session, or spa appointment has a credit price, and that price moves. ClassPass lists the factors it uses: venue requirements, time of day, how far ahead you book, equipment, location, popularity, and promotions such as a first-visit discount (source). Studios can also price their ClassPass spots dynamically, so the same class can cost a different number of credits from one week to the next (source).
A few patterns hold almost everywhere:
- Equipment costs more. Reformer pilates, spin, and rowing classes take more credits than mat yoga or bootcamp.
- Peak times cost more. Early-morning and after-work slots are the most expensive. Midday classes are often the cheapest.
- Booking early helps. ClassPass itself suggests booking as early as possible and choosing off-peak times.
- Credits have no cash value. They cannot be transferred, refunded, or redeemed for cash.
How many classes do ClassPass credits actually buy?
Divide the plan's credits by the credit price of the classes you want. ClassPass's own estimates imply an average of roughly 2.6 to 5.5 credits per class, which works out to about $5 to $12 per class on the mid-size plans. That is the optimistic end. If you mostly book equipment-based classes at peak times, plan on the low end of each range.
| Plan | If a class costs 4 credits | If a class costs 7 credits | If a class costs 10 credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15 credits ($35) | 3 classes ($11.67 each) | 2 classes ($17.50 each) | 1 class ($35) |
| 28 credits ($59) | 7 classes ($8.43 each) | 4 classes ($14.75 each) | 2 classes ($29.50 each) |
| 43 credits ($89) | 10 classes ($8.90 each) | 6 classes ($14.83 each) | 4 classes ($22.25 each) |
| 68 credits ($139) | 17 classes ($8.18 each) | 9 classes ($15.44 each) | 6 classes ($23.17 each) |
Leftover credits are not wasted if you stay subscribed (see rollover below), so the per-class cost evens out over a few months. The table shows a single month with no rollover.
How much are 20 ClassPass credits?
There is no 20-credit plan in most US markets. At the per-credit rates above, 20 credits are worth about $40 to $48. If you need a few extra credits mid-month, ClassPass sells top-ups and add-on packs; prices appear in the app at checkout and the purchases are non-refundable (source).
How many classes are 48 credits?
Around 8 to 16 classes, depending on what you book. Toronto's 38-credit plan and the US 43-credit plan both carry ClassPass estimates in that range. A 48-credit balance buys about twelve 4-credit classes or four to five 10-credit reformer slots.
The ClassPass free trial
Trial offers vary by area and change often. On October 1, 2026, ClassPass was offering new members in the Portland, Maine area one month free with up to 10 workouts, after which the account automatically enrolls in the 28-credit, $59 plan. Other areas see credit-based trials instead, and ClassPass has also tested an "Early Access" discounted trial (source).
What to know before you start a trial:
- Trial visits are usually first-time visits, one per studio. Repeat visits need a paid plan or purchased credits.
- Trial credits do not roll over into your paid membership.
- Canceling a trial is immediate: you lose remaining trial credits and any booked classes. ClassPass recommends waiting until the last day of the trial to cancel.
- Late-cancel and missed-class fees apply during the trial too.
- The trial is once per person, even with a different email address.
Do ClassPass credits roll over?
Yes, on paid monthly plans. Unused credits you paid for roll over into the next cycle, up to the number of credits in your next month's plan. If your next plan has fewer than 10 credits, you can still roll over up to 10. Anything above the cap expires at 11:59 p.m. the day before your renewal (source).
Two exceptions catch people out: trial credits do not roll over, and canceling forfeits every remaining credit, rolled over or purchased, on the last day of your billing cycle.
ClassPass fees: late cancels, missed classes, and extras
| Fee | When it applies | US amount |
|---|---|---|
| Late cancellation | Canceling inside the window, usually 12 hours before class | $10 to $56, plus tax |
| Missed reservation | Not showing up and not canceling | $12 to $62, plus tax |
| Membership cancellation | Ending your plan | $0 |
| Studio extras | Equipment rental, such as boxing gloves | Set by the studio |
For late cancels and missed classes, ClassPass returns your credits and charges the fee, or may keep the credits instead (source). The exact fee for each class is shown in its cancellation policy before you book. ClassPass does not refund membership months or credit purchases (source).
Can you pause ClassPass?
Sometimes. There is no self-serve pause button for every account. You contact ClassPass support with your reason, and they decide whether to grant it. During an approved pause you are not charged and your credits are frozen. When you resume, the fee is charged right away and your billing date moves to the resume date (source).
If a pause is not available, downgrading to the 8-credit plan is the cheapest way to keep your account and up to 10 rolled-over credits. Downgrades take effect at your next billing cycle.
Canceling ClassPass
There is no fee to cancel, and you can do it any time from Account Settings on the website or Profile, then Settings, in the app. Submit it at least 48 hours before your renewal date, and look for a confirmation email, since ClassPass says a request without one was not received. Your credits disappear at the end of the cycle. Our step-by-step guide on how to cancel ClassPass walks through each screen.
ClassPass vs booking studios directly
ClassPass wins when you want variety and do not attend any single studio often. Booking direct wins once you settle on one or two places and go regularly. Here is a rough comparison using Portland, Maine prices, where drop-in mat classes commonly run $20 to $30 and reformer sessions $30 to $45 (see our Portland pilates guide).
| How you pay | Typical cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| ClassPass 28 credits | $59 a month, about $6 to $15 per class | Trying several studios a month |
| Studio drop-in | $20 to $45 per class | Occasional visits |
| Studio class pack (10 classes) | Usually 15 to 25 percent less per class than drop-in | Steady weekly habit at one studio |
| Studio unlimited membership | Often $120 to $250 a month at boutiques | Three or more classes a week at one studio |
| Studio intro offer | Often a discounted first week or month | Testing a new studio |
Studio prices vary, so check the studio's own site. Two things the table cannot show: many studios cap how many ClassPass spots they release, and some limit how often a ClassPass member can book the same studio. If your favorite class is always sold out on ClassPass, that is a sign to buy direct. We work through the break-even math in Is ClassPass worth it?
Ways to pay less for ClassPass
- Book off-peak. Midday and weekend afternoon classes often cost fewer credits.
- Book early. Credit prices tend to rise as a class fills.
- Size your plan to your real attendance. Check how many credits you used over the last two months and drop a tier if you are rolling over the maximum every cycle.
- Check for an employer plan. Some companies subsidize ClassPass, and others offer Wellhub instead.
- Never skip without canceling. A $12 to $62 missed-class fee erases the savings from a cheaper plan.
Keep the habit, however you pay
The cheapest class is the one you actually attend. Full disclosure: Corvi is our app. It does not book classes or sell credits. You book through ClassPass or with your studio, then check in on Corvi to keep a streak, hit weekly goals, rate instructors, and see where your friends train. It is free. If you are weighing options, our Corvi vs ClassPass comparison and list of ClassPass alternatives cover the rest.
Common questions
How much is ClassPass a month?
As of October 2026, US ClassPass plans run from $19 a month for 8 credits to $249 a month for 125 credits, plus sales tax. The most common plan is 28 credits for $59 a month, which is the default plan after the free trial. Plan sizes and credit counts vary by city, so check the plans page with your location set.
Do ClassPass credits roll over?
Yes, on paid monthly plans. Purchased credits you do not use roll over, up to the number of credits in next month's plan, or up to 10 credits if that plan is smaller than 10. Trial credits do not roll over, and if you cancel, all remaining credits are forfeited at the end of your billing cycle.
Can you pause ClassPass?
You can request a pause by contacting ClassPass support with a reason, but it is granted case by case. During a pause you are not charged and your credits are frozen. When you resume, you are charged right away and your billing date moves. If a pause is denied, dropping to the 8-credit plan is the cheapest way to hold your credits.
Why is ClassPass so much cheaper than booking direct?
Studios sell spare spots to ClassPass at a lower rate to fill classes that would otherwise run with empty spaces. That is why the cheapest credit prices show up at off-peak times and why popular slots cost more credits or are not offered at all. Once you attend one studio often, its own class packs or memberships are usually the better deal.
Is there a fee to cancel ClassPass?
No. ClassPass charges no cancellation fee. You do lose all remaining credits at the end of your billing cycle, and ClassPass asks for cancellation requests at least 48 hours before your renewal date so you are not charged for another month. Late-cancel and missed-class fees still apply to any reservations you skip.
