How to Cancel ClassPass (October 2026): Steps, Credits, and Pausing
Cancel ClassPass from Account Settings or the app's Billing menu, 48 hours before renewal. What happens to credits, trials, and when pausing is better.
To cancel ClassPass, go to Account, then Settings, and click "Cancel your membership" on the website, or tap Profile, then Settings, then "Cancel my membership" under Billing in the app. There is no cancellation fee, but submit it at least 48 hours before your renewal date and wait for the confirmation email, because your remaining credits are forfeited at the end of the billing cycle.
The steps and rules below come from the ClassPass Help Center, checked October 1, 2026. Menu names can shift slightly between app versions.
A quick note: Corvi, which publishes this blog, does not book classes or sell credits. If you are leaving ClassPass but staying with the studios you found there, Corvi is a free way to keep track of those classes. More on that at the end.

Timing: when to cancel
ClassPass renews automatically on the same date each month. To avoid another charge, ClassPass asks you to cancel at least 48 hours before your renewal date. You can find your cycle date in Account Settings. ClassPass does not refund membership months, so a cancellation that arrives late means paying for one more month (refund policy).
Most important: if you do not get a confirmation email, ClassPass says your request was not received. Check spam, then try again or contact support through chat.
What happens to your credits when you cancel
| Item | What happens |
|---|---|
| Remaining credits (monthly, rolled over, or purchased) | Forfeited on the last day of your billing cycle |
| Cancellation fee | None |
| Refund for the current month | None |
| Classes booked after your cycle ends | Your membership ends with the cycle, so cancel them in time to avoid late-cancel fees |
| Gift cards | Gift cards are separate from credits and do not expire |
| Coming back later | You can reactivate any time at current prices for your area |
Since you lose the credits either way, use them before your last day. Book classes inside your current cycle, and cancel any reservations you no longer want with at least 12 hours' notice (or whatever window the class lists). Late cancels cost $10 to $56 and missed classes $12 to $62 in the US (source).
How to cancel a ClassPass free trial
Use the same steps as above. The difference is timing: trial cancellations take effect immediately. You lose any remaining trial credits and all booked classes the moment you cancel. ClassPass recommends waiting until the last day of the trial to cancel if you still want to use it (source).
If you forget, the trial rolls into the paid plan shown at sign-up. In the Portland, Maine area in October 2026 that was the 28-credit, $59 a month plan. ClassPass sends a reminder email before the trial ends. Some newer "Early Access" trials work differently and stay active until the end of the trial period after you cancel, so read the terms on your account.
Pause vs cancel
If you are leaving for a few weeks, a pause or a downgrade may suit you better than canceling.
| Pause | Downgrade to 8 credits | Cancel | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly charge | None during the pause | $19 a month | None |
| Your credits | Frozen and kept | Up to 10 roll over | Forfeited |
| How to get it | Request from support with a reason; not guaranteed | Self-serve in Manage plan; starts next cycle | Self-serve |
| Coming back | Resume in Manage plan; charged right away and billing date moves | Upgrade any time | Reactivate as a new paid member |
Pause rules are from ClassPass's pause article and unpause article. Plan prices are in our ClassPass pricing guide.
If you cannot find the cancel option
- Update the app. Menu names change between versions. If the Billing section looks different, try the website instead.
- Use a browser on a computer. The website path (Account, then Settings, then the red cancel link) is the most consistent.
- Check which account you are in. If you have more than one email address, make sure you are logged in to the one that is being charged.
- Corporate plans. If your employer pays for ClassPass, the plan may be managed through your company's benefit, and canceling can work differently.
- Contact support. ClassPass offers help through chat in the app and the Help Center. Ask for written confirmation of the cancellation.
- Keep the confirmation email until after your renewal date passes without a charge.
After you cancel: keep going to the studios you found
Many people cancel ClassPass because they found a studio they love and now go often enough that its own membership is cheaper. That is usually a good sign. Look for the studio's intro offer or membership on its own site or booking app; our post on whether ClassPass is worth it has the break-even math, and ClassPass alternatives lists other ways to book.
Full disclosure: this is where our app fits. Corvi does not book classes. You book with your studio, then check in on Corvi to keep your streak, set weekly goals, rate instructors, and see where friends train. It is free, so canceling ClassPass does not mean losing track of your classes. Our Corvi vs ClassPass page explains the difference.
Common questions
Is it hard to cancel ClassPass?
No. You can cancel yourself from Account Settings on the website or Profile, then Settings, in the app. ClassPass may show other plans before you confirm. The steps people miss are canceling at least 48 hours before renewal and checking for the confirmation email, since ClassPass treats a request without one as not received.
Do I lose my credits if I cancel ClassPass?
Yes. All remaining credits, including rolled-over and purchased credits, are forfeited on the last day of your billing cycle. Book and attend classes before then to use them. If you want to keep your credits, ask support about a pause or downgrade to the smallest plan instead of canceling.
Can I cancel ClassPass anytime?
Yes. There is no contract or cancellation fee, and you can cancel at any point in your cycle. Your membership stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for, but ClassPass does not refund partial months, so canceling early in the cycle does not save money.
Is there a fee to cancel a ClassPass membership?
No. ClassPass does not charge a fee to cancel. You can still owe late-cancel or missed-reservation fees for any classes you skip without canceling in time, which run $10 to $62 in the US depending on the class. Sales tax is added to those fees.
