Wellhub vs ClassPass (2026): Which Is Better for You?

Wellhub is an employer-paid benefit with flat tiers; ClassPass is a credit subscription anyone can buy. Prices, access, and who should pick which.

Wellhub and ClassPass solve different problems: Wellhub is an employer-paid wellness benefit with flat monthly tiers and daily check-ins, while ClassPass is a credit-based subscription anyone can buy. If your employer offers Wellhub, it is usually the cheaper way to get gym and studio access. If it does not, ClassPass is the option you can sign up for yourself.

Wellhub is the company formerly known as Gympass, so "Gympass vs ClassPass" is the same comparison. Facts below come from Wellhub's comparison page, classpass.com/plans, and the ClassPass Help Center, checked October 1, 2026.

A note on who is writing: Corvi is a free app for checking in to classes and keeping streaks. It does not book classes or sell credits, and it works alongside either service.

How Wellhub works

Wellhub is sold to employers as a wellness benefit. Your company picks which plans to offer and how much to subsidize, and you choose a tier in the app. Each tier unlocks a set of gyms and studios, and you can check in once a day at any partner in your tier. Wellhub says plans start at $11.99 a month and that you can add up to three family members at the same price. Higher tiers add more premium gyms and boutique studios.

The main limit is access. If your employer does not offer Wellhub, you generally cannot buy it on your own. Ask HR or check your benefits portal before assuming you are not covered.

How ClassPass works

ClassPass is a monthly subscription that gives you a set number of credits. Each class, gym visit, or spa appointment costs credits, and the price changes with time of day, demand, equipment, and location. The 28-credit, $59 plan is the default after the free trial, and ClassPass estimates it covers 5 to 10 classes. Unused purchased credits roll over up to the size of next month's plan. Our ClassPass pricing guide has the full plan list.

Which is cheaper?

If your employer offers Wellhub, it is usually cheaper for frequent visits, because a flat tier with daily check-ins does not get more expensive as you go more often. ClassPass costs scale with use: the more classes you book, especially peak-time boutique classes, the bigger the plan you need.

ClassPass can be the better deal in two cases. First, if you take only a few classes a month, the 8-credit or 15-credit plans may cost less than a Wellhub tier that includes the studios you want. Second, if the specific boutique studios you like are on ClassPass but not in your Wellhub tier, ClassPass is the only way to reach them without buying direct.

Which has better studios?

This depends on your city. Wellhub's strength is gym networks and a wide partner list for daily use. ClassPass's strength is boutique classes, with more than 30,000 partner studios, gyms, spas, and salons worldwide according to ClassPass. Before choosing, search both apps for the three studios you most want to attend and see which ones each covers, and at which tier.

Can you use both?

Yes. Some people use Wellhub for daily gym access and keep a small ClassPass plan for the occasional boutique class Wellhub does not cover. Just watch the total, since two subscriptions plus late-cancel fees can quietly cost more than one direct studio membership. If you have settled on a favorite studio, compare both against its membership price. Our Is ClassPass worth it? post shows how to run that math.

Who should pick which

  • Pick Wellhub if your employer offers it, you want daily gym access, or you want to cover family members.
  • Pick ClassPass if Wellhub is not available to you, you mostly want boutique classes, or you travel to cities where ClassPass has more partners.
  • Pick neither if you go to one studio three or more times a week. Its own membership is usually the better value. See our list of ClassPass alternatives for more options.

How to check what your employer offers

Before paying for anything yourself, spend five minutes on your benefits. Many companies list fitness perks in a benefits portal that nobody reads.

  1. Search your benefits portal or employee handbook for "Wellhub," "Gympass," "ClassPass," or "fitness."
  2. Ask HR or your benefits team directly. Some perks are only announced during open enrollment.
  3. Check whether the benefit covers family members, and how much the employee share is for each tier.
  4. Search the app for the studios you actually want before picking a tier. A cheaper tier is no bargain if your favorite studio is not in it.
  5. Check your health insurance too. Some plans offer gym or fitness reimbursements that can offset a studio membership.

If none of this turns anything up, compare a small ClassPass plan with your favorite studio's intro offer and membership.

Keep track of your classes either way

Wellhub and ClassPass both record bookings, but neither gives you a training history that follows you between studios, apps, and employers. Full disclosure: that is what we built Corvi for. You book with Wellhub, ClassPass, or the studio, then check in on Corvi to keep a streak, set weekly goals, rate instructors, and see where friends train. It is free and does not book or sell classes. See Corvi vs ClassPass for how it fits with a booking service, or Mindbody vs ClassPass if you want to book studios directly.

Common questions

Is Wellhub better than ClassPass?

Wellhub is better value if your employer offers it and you work out often, because flat tiers with daily check-ins do not get pricier as you go more. ClassPass is better if you cannot get Wellhub through work, want boutique classes Wellhub does not cover in your tier, or only take a few classes a month.

Is Gympass the same as Wellhub?

Yes. Gympass renamed itself Wellhub, so older articles and searches for Gympass vs ClassPass refer to the same service. It still works the same way: an employer-sponsored benefit with monthly tiers that give access to gyms, studios, and wellness apps.

Can I get Wellhub without an employer?

Generally no. Wellhub is sold to companies as an employee benefit, and individuals sign up through their employer's program. If your company does not offer it, you can ask HR to consider it, or use ClassPass or a studio's own membership instead.

Does Wellhub use credits like ClassPass?

No. Wellhub uses monthly tiers instead of credits. Each tier gives you access to a set list of partner gyms and studios, with one check-in per day. ClassPass gives you a monthly credit balance, and each booking costs a different number of credits depending on the class, time, and demand.
